NEW YORK -- U.S. lawmakers are pushing ahead this week with a string of bills aimed at countering China, including one to keep federal contractors from working with Chinese biotechnology companies, as Congress returns from its summer recess.

In what has been dubbed "China Week," the House of Representatives will vote on dozens of bills targeting China and its companies, according to a website maintained by the congressional chamber.
