WASHINGTON -- The U.S. and China are locked in a growing espionage contest even as they eye a November summit between Presidents Joe Biden and Xi Jinping, further complicating bilateral ties already strained by trade disputes and technological rivalry.
White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Malta on Sept. 16 and Sept. 17, in part to explore the possibility of the summit.
