NEW YORK -- An American citizen was acquitted on Monday by a U.S. jury of charges that he was an undeclared agent of China.

Litang Liang, 65, was accused of spying on Hong Kong democracy activists and political dissidents living in the Boston area and providing information on their activities to Chinese officials from around 2018 to 2022.
