U.S. sees China as economic bully, seeks united front with allies

Washington wants to forge strategy with Japan and EU against trade retaliation

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. will align with allies such as Japan and the European Union in seeking ways to counter China as Beijing increasingly flexes its economic muscle against other countries in foreign relations.

The U.S. included new policies toward that end in the National Defense Authorization Act, expected to be signed into law soon by President Joe Biden.
