HANOI -- Chinese President Xi Jinping and Vietnamese Communist Party leader General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on Tuesday agreed that their countries will build a "shared future" and strengthen their bilateral relationship.

Thirty-six documents were signed as the leaders met in Hanoi, including a memorandum of understanding on strengthening aid cooperation in railway development across the Vietnam-China border.
