DUBAI/TEHRAN -- Iran's Supreme National Security Council has postponed the implementation of a strict hijab law that threatened to imprison women for up to 15 years if they repeatedly flout it.
Set to come into place last month, the law will impose heavier fines and jail sentences on women who do not cover their hair, forearms and legs. If the offender does not pay the fine, she could be barred from leaving Iran and have her driver license rescinded.
