TOKYO -- Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is set to face tough questioning from opposition parties as Japan's parliament starts debating his unpopular tax cut plan amid a spate of scandals involving ministry officials he appointed.
The income tax cut is the centerpiece of the economic stimulus package financed by the 13.2 trillion yen ($88.2 billion) supplementary budget proposal submitted to the legislature on Monday.
