TOKYO -- Japan's ruling coalition has reached a broad agreement on legislative changes to increase transparency in political funds, including requiring lawmakers to attest to the accuracy of fundraising reports.
The move comes in response to a sprawling fundraising scandal that ensnared many ruling Liberal Democratic Party lawmakers.
