Japan's Kishida sees approval rating climb to 65%

88% of public supports measures to close borders to foreigners

TOKYO -- The approval rating of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's cabinet rose 4 percentage points to 65% in a new Nikkei/TV Tokyo poll.

The survey, conducted between Friday and Sunday, saw the disapproval rating hold nearly steady from the November poll at 26%.
