TOKYO -- Japan will bolster its response to technology leaks and other threats to economic security by stepping up intelligence collection, Justice Minister Yoshihisa Furukawa said Friday.

"We will work to improve intelligence-gathering capabilities under the Public Service Intelligence Agency," which falls under the purview of the Justice Ministry, he told Nikkei and other news outlets.
