TOKYO -- Japan will create a think tank to analyze how economic security risks affect supply chains and other areas and provide policy proposals amid rising concerns about tensions surrounding Taiwan and trade disputes, Nikkei has learned.

The think tank will be part of the efforts to bolster the framework for addressing economic security risks under the National Security Secretariat. This initiative will be outlined in annual economic and fiscal policy guidelines due out this month.
