SINGAPORE -- Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Monday announced he will pass the reins to Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on May 15, in what will be the city-state's first leadership change in 20 years.
"For any country, a leadership transition is a significant moment," Lee said on social media. "I ask all Singaporeans to give Lawrence and his team your full support, and work with them to create a brighter future for Singapore."
