Malaysia confirms first IS attack

KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysian authorities said on Monday that a recent grenade attack on a pub was the work of Islamic State (IS), confirming the first such incident in the Muslim-majority country that some citizens have left to join Middle Eastern terrorist groups in recent years.

"This is the first terror attack in the country," Inspector General Khalid Abu Bakar, Malaysia's top policeman, said at a press conference.
