KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Monday announced the dissolution of parliament, paving the way for the country's 15th general election despite protests by most political parties over holding the polls during the monsoon flood season.

King Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin agreed to the dissolution during an audience on Sunday, Ismail Sabri told a news conference.
