Malaysia goes after Jho Low parents in 1MDB probe

Authorities gathering evidence ahead of Najib trial

KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysian police issued search notices on Friday for key individuals in the multibillion-dollar 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) fraud case, including for the parents of prime suspect Low Taek Jho.

The corruption trial of former Prime Minister Najib Razak is set to begin in February, and Low's whereabouts remain unknown. By targeting Low's parents, Malaysian authorities appear to be stepping up pressure on the fugitive to give himself up.
