KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia will set up a new digital ministry to drive economic growth and lure investment to the country, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced on Tuesday as he made a raft of changes to his cabinet lineup.
The new ministry will work on "digital transformation," Anwar said, calling the "changing and challenging" field "a major focus of this government." The prime minister, who last month marked his first anniversary in office, stressed the importance of an effective response to growing interest in data centers and artificial intelligence, as well as the need to "enhance the understanding of students at various levels."
