MANILA -- The rift between two of the most powerful political families in the Philippines -- that of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and that of his predecessor, Rodrigo Duterte -- is likely to take center stage in the country's midterm elections next year.
Vice President Sara Duterte, the former leader's daughter, on Friday told reporters that Marcos "doesn't know how to govern," underscoring a growing rivalry that could overshadow the main concerns of Filipinos, ranging from tensions with China to rising consumer prices, in the upcoming polls.
