ABOARD U.S. MILITARY AIRCRAFT -- The U.S. military is not ruling out additional action against Iran-related facilities if attacks on American troops in Syria and Iraq continue, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said on Wednesday.

The Pentagon announced the same day that two U.S. F-15 fighter jets had carried out strikes on a weapon storage facility in eastern Syria that was used by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iran-backed groups. This is the second U.S. airstrike in the region since the Palestinian militant group Hamas conducted a surprise attack on Israel on Oct. 7.
