ISLAMABAD -- The Supreme Court of Pakistan ruled on Friday that former Prime Minister Imran Khan's opposition PTI party is eligible for reserved seats for women and minorities, and overturned a Peshawar High Court decision denying this.
In an 8-5 majority, the top court declared the decision to deprive Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of reserved seats as unconstitutional, and ordered the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to allot the reserved seats to PTI.
