ISLAMABAD -- A former prime minister and an ex-president look poised to reprise their old jobs in Pakistan, although widespread public anger and court challenges over alleged election rigging loom over the formation of the next government.
After drawn-out negotiations, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) agreed late on Tuesday to a power-sharing arrangement in which the former's Shehbaz Sharif will become prime minister while the latter's Asif Ali Zardari will become president.
