DAVAO CITY, Philippines -- On outgoing President Rodrigo Duterte's home turf, Philippine Congressman Rodante Marcoleta delivered a 10-minute master class in historical revisionism to a partisan crowd of about 80,000.

The People Power revolution that toppled late Philippine dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. in 1986 was "a big lie, a big mistake," Marcoleta told the audience near the southern Philippine city of Davao on Thursday.
