MANILA -- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has abandoned plans to retire from politics by filing his candidacy for senator in next year's elections.
Duterte's representative registered his candidacy on Monday -- the deadline for political parties to finalize candidates -- ending speculations over the controversial leader's plans.
