MANILA -- Philippine ex-leader Rodrigo Duterte was arrested in Manila on Tuesday, as police acted on a warrant requested by the International Criminal Court despite the nation's departure from the organization in 2019 during the administration of the former president.

The step comes amid an escalating feud between the families of Duterte and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., and ahead of midterm elections in May.
