MANILA -- Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte, who was impeached this week, has admitted that she has been preparing her legal defense for over a year.

In her first public appearance since members of the lower house formally moved on Wednesday to remove her from office, Duterte said her legal campaign began when her impeachment was first mooted.
