TOKYO -- Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad visited Japan on Friday and paid his condolences to the widow of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The two-time Malaysian prime minister flew to Japan and met Akie Abe in the afternoon. The 97-year-old had been in South Korea for a conference.
