SINGAPORE -- Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has announced a draft budget for fiscal 2025 that introduces financial support schemes for locals ahead of the state's next general election, which must be held by November.
The election will test the level of support for Wong, who became prime minister last year. While his ruling People's Action Party is widely expected to win, the opposition also seeks a heavier presence after eating into the PAP's dominance in the previous election.
