SINGAPORE -- Singaporean Finance Minister Lawrence Wong, the new heir apparent to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, seems to be positioning himself for a collective approach to leadership, partnering with other politicians in his generation to make up for his own relatively short resume.

In a possible sign of things to come, the word "team" appeared three times in the short message Wong posted on social media just after Thursday's announcement of his endorsement as leader of the fourth generation of the long-ruling People's Action Party.
