SEOUL -- South Korean prosecutors on Wednesday said they will transfer their investigation into President Yoon Suk Yeol's short-lived martial law decree to an independent office, amid controversy over overlapping probes.

Following the move, the investigation into Yoon and former Interior Minister Lee Sang-min will be led by the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO).
