SEOUL -- More members of South Korea's ruling party on Tuesday signaled they would take part in a vote to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol on Saturday, a change from their previous stance and hinting at a path to removing the unpopular leader from office.

Yoon managed to hang on to his position following the first attempt at impeachment on Saturday with members of his conservative People Power Party boycotting the vote. Opposition parties hold 192 seats in the 300-seat legislature, meaning to pass the impeachment, eight members of Yoon's own party will have to vote in favor.
