SEOUL -- Han Duck-soo, South Korea's acting president and prime minister, was impeached in a vote by the National Assembly on Friday, ramping up political uncertainty almost two weeks after the impeachment and suspension from duty of President Yoon Suk Yeol.

A total of 192 opposition and independent lawmakers in South Korea's legislature voted in favor of the motion to impeach Han over a dispute involving the appointment of justices to the Constitutional Court, which is adjudicating Yoon's impeachment.
