SEOUL -- South Korea's lawmakers are set to vote on the impeachment of Prime Minister and acting President Han Duck-soo on Friday, ratcheting up the political and economic uncertainty surrounding the country as the country's currency hit a 15-year low against the dollar.

The National Assembly opened a plenary session in the afternoon to decide the fate of Han, who is accused by opposition Democratic Party lawmakers of refusing to appoint three Constitutional Court justices approved by the legislature.
