SEOUL -- A South Korean court on Tuesday issued a warrant for the arrest of impeached and suspended President Yoon Suk Yeol on the charge of insurrection related to his short-lived attempt to impose martial law early this month, investigative authorities said.

The Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO) said in an alert that the warrant to arrest Yoon and carry out searches related to his case had been issued. It did not specify when such acts would take place.
