SEOUL -- In the first meeting between South Korea's two most prominent politicians, the opposition leader called on the president to support a measure to provide a one-time cash handout to all citizens.
The meeting took place at an inflection point in the country's politics, following pivotal legislative elections earlier this month. President Yoon Suk Yeol's party sustained losses in those polls, and Yoon chose this moment to finally meet with Lee Jae-myung, leader of the main opposition Democratic Party, as he attempts to reset his presidency.
