SEOUL -- The leader of South Korea's main opposition party was stabbed during an official appearance in the southern city of Busan on Tuesday, local media reported.

Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party was visiting the site where an airport is to be built when he was attacked by a male assailant, according to national broadcaster KBS.
