South Koreans putting politics aside to rekindle Japan ties

SEOUL -- At the highest level, relations between Japan and South Korea could hardly be frostier. But feelings on the ground are much warmer, indicating a diplomatic thaw might not be far off.

     Apart from some political matters, most South Koreans seem to have a favorable view of their neighbor, and some citizens are even making their own attempts to mend fences. Government employees and officials, aware of the importance of the bilateral relationship, are also reaching out to Japan.
