BANGKOK -- Thailand's Constitutional Court on Friday dismissed a petition accusing former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra of attempting to overthrow the country's constitutional monarchy.

The petition alleged that Thaksin used his influence over Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, his youngest daughter and leader of the ruling Pheu Thai Party, including by guiding her government's policies from behind the scenes.
