Thai Constitutional Court removes PM Srettha Thavisin from office

BANGKOK -- Thailand's Constitutional Court on Wednesday removed Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin from office for breaching the constitution with a cabinet appointment, a ruling likely to throw Thai politics back into turmoil a year after a changing of regimes.

The House of Representatives will vote Friday to select a new prime minister from lists of candidates parties were required to submit to the Election Commission ahead of the last general election.
