BANGKOK -- Thailand's constitutional court said on Wednesday that it has accepted a petition filed by election authorities seeking to dissolve the opposition Move Forward Party, after the party's proposal to amend the country's Law of Lese-Majeste was construed as an attempt to subvert the country's constitutional monarchy.
The election commission filed the case with the court on March 12, saying it had found "reasonable evidence" that the party's policies and former leader Pita Limjaroenrat had sought to overthrow the monarchy by proposing the amendment.
