BANGKOK -- The Constitutional Court of Thailand on Wednesday ordered the progressive Move Forward Party to stop communicating its signature policy, ruling that it violated the country's highest law and setting off a process that could lead to the group's dissolution.

The court's nine judges ruled unanimously that the party and its former leader Pita Limjaroenrat made attempts to overthrow Thailand's system of constitutional monarchy by proposing to amend the so-called lese-majeste law, which penalizes insulting the king or other senior royals.
