BANGKOK -- Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has launched affordable housing and foreign study programs designed to help Thailand's lower-income earners, a group historically aligned with her Pheu Thai Party.

Thailand kicked off a program Jan. 17 to build affordable housing, as model homes measuring 30 to 50 square meters opened on the outskirts of Bangkok near the Krung Thep Aphiwat railway terminal.
