BEIJING/WASHINGTON -- The U.S. needs to understand the complete scope of North Korea's nuclear capabilities and will keep sanctions in place until denuclearization is complete, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Thursday after meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing.

The American diplomat also met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and briefed him on the outcome of this week's meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
