PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania -- U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris sought to galvanize Asian American voters on Saturday to build support for President Joe Biden, amid growing doubts over the leader's re-election bid.

Harris spoke at a town hall organized in Philadelphia by APIAVote, a non-profit dedicated to engaging with the Asian American community. But her appearance was quickly overshadowed by the apparent assassination attempt on Biden's rival, former President Donald Trump, later the same day and in the same state of Pennsylvania.
