VIENNA -- Two Chinese nationals captured on the battlefield by Ukraine said they did not fight for Russia under orders from the Chinese government.

The two soldiers appeared in a press conference in Kyiv Monday. One of them, a 33-year-old, said he decided to join the Russian army after seeing a recruitment ad on social media.
