TOKYO -- Leaders from the Group of Seven major industrial nations urged countries not to provide assistance to Moscow on the anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, affirming a commitment to sanctions against Russia and assistance for Kyiv at a virtual meeting Friday.

"We call on third countries or other international actors who seek to evade or undermine our measures to cease providing material support to Russia’s war, or face severe costs," the bloc said in a statement.
