VIENNA/SEOUL -- As North Korean troops prepare to join Russia's war against Ukraine, doubts linger over how effective a fighting force they will be in actual combat.

Russia is expected to send the first North Korean soldiers to combat zones as early as Sunday or Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a post on X.
