SEOUL -- South Korea will send ammunition to Poland, Seoul's Defense Ministry said on Thursday, while a high-ranking government official suggested direct military assistance to Ukraine may occur in the future.

South Korea has so far stopped short of directly supplying weapons to Ukraine to avoid frictions with Russia over concerns that Moscow would in turn provide assistance to North Korea.
