VIENNA -- Ukraine has taken two North Korean soldiers prisoner in a part of western Russia that is under its control, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Saturday.

While North Korean military personnel had been captured before, in each case they were seriously injured and died shortly afterward. The two prisoners detained in the Kursk region are wounded but have been transported to Kyiv and are communicating with the Security Service of Ukraine, according to Zelenskyy.
