TOKYO/LONDON -- Two months into its conflict with Russia, Ukraine has mostly succeeded in staying connected to the internet, thanks to wireless carriers working against the odds to patch their war-torn networks.

Engineers have been on the front lines of the conflict, repairing equipment and maintaining communications that are vital on both the battlefield and the civilian front.
