Ukrainians split over cease-fire talks with Russia

KYIV, Ukraine -- Molochainyk, a play popular in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities this summer, tells the story of three generations of women living in a Russian occupied town in Ukraine's southern Kherson region.

Despite the horror of the occupation, the family retains attachment to their land and, despite their hardships, maintain their sense of humor. But the grandmother dies because she cannot get the medicine she needs. The mother, meanwhile, decides to stay in the town alone, allowing her daughters to escape. When the mother says, "I will patiently await [the liberation of the town]," audiences shed tears.
