Uniqlo suspends Russia business, reversing earlier decision

Japan retailer cites operational challenges and worsening conflict

TOKYO -- Japanese clothing retailer Fast Retailing is suspending its operations in Russia, the company announced on Thursday.

The company operates 50 Uniqlo stores in Russia. Arrangements are now being made to suspend operations "as soon as we can," according to a Fast Retailing spokesperson. The company expects all the stores, including online sales, to completely close in 10 days, the spokesperson told Nikkei Asia.
